The Visionary

You're not confused about what you want.
You're just not sure you're ready for what comes with it.

You have known for a long time what you’re here to do. Not in a vague “I feel called to something bigger” way, in a specific, detailed, I-can-see-exactly-what-it-looks-like way. You’ve thought about it, refined it, sat with it, come back to it over and over again because it genuinely won’t leave you alone.

And you’re still not fully in it.

Not because you don’t believe in it. Not because you lack the skills or the experience. You have all of that and you know you do. The thing that keeps stopping you isn’t a gap in your ability, it’s the part that kicks in right when things start getting real and suddenly there are a hundred very reasonable sounding reasons to wait just a little bit longer.

Sound familiar?

Here’s what’s actually going on. The vision is real, and your body knows it’s real, which means stepping fully into it isn’t some abstract future thing anymore. It’s visible. It can be seen and judged and misunderstood, it can be taken from you or it can not go the way you pictured it, and that is a completely different thing than holding it safely in your head where it’s still perfect and still entirely yours.

It's not fear of failure. That would almost be easier to work with. It's fear of what happens when it works and everyone's watching and there's no version of yourself left that isn't fully, visibly in it.

So without even fully realizing it, you’ve learned to stay just close enough to feel like you’re moving toward it but just far enough back to stay protected from what full commitment actually means. You work on it, you talk about it, you prepare for it, and then right when it’s time to actually go, something in you pumps the brakes.

Exposure feels like it costs something you’re not sure you’re ready to hand over.

More clarity is not going to get you there, come on now. You are not lacking clarity. What has to shift is where your sense of safety lives, because right now it lives in staying slightly behind the moment of full commitment, and that is what keeps the vision feeling like something you’re always heading toward instead of something you’re actually inside of.

Here’s what I know about this one. I had the vision. I knew what I was here to do. And I kept finding really intelligent reasons to stay one step back from it, because as long as I hadn’t fully committed, it couldn’t fully not work out. That’s the math your nervous system is doing whether you’re aware of it or not. Staying close enough to feel aligned, far enough back to feel safe. Absa-fuckin-lootly exhausting, by the way.

Awakening Self is where that changes. Not by forcing you to be more visible before you’re ready, but by shifting what ready actually feels like in your body so that stepping fully into it stops feeling like stepping into danger.

The vision was never the problem. This is where you stop holding it at a distance and actually let yourself have it.
